Let’s Talk Bookish – Questions for More Experienced Bloggers

Let’s talk Bookish is a new weekly meme hosted by Rukky @Eternity Books. Each week, Rukky offers a topic to discuss and people are invited to chime in. This week the topic is Things You Wish You could Ask Other or More Experienced Bloggers.

So, I’m quite shy when it comes to asking questions, but I do have a few burning ones on my list.

  1. How do you come up with such wonderful discussion posts?
  2. When did you get the courage to start commenting on bloggers with 1,000+ followers?
  3. What do you do when you’re busy or in a reading slump and haven’t finished a book to read?
  4. When did you start contacting publishers directly for ARCs? Any advice?
  5. What are some tried and true methods for gaining more followers?
  6. What made you decide to start a book blog?
  7. What are some of your favorite books that you don’t get around to talking about as much?
  8. What are you writing/blogging inspirations?
  9. What’s your favorite post of all time?
  10. How do you encourage others to comment on your posts?

Okay, I think that’s all the questions I have. Got any answers for me? Any questions you have? Drop a comment below and let me know!

  1. I’m always so surprised how people come up with discussion topics, and can write so much about them!
I want to contact publishers for ARCs as well, but I have no idea how to do that haha!
    Great questions!

  2. I think the best tried and true method for gaining followers is blog hopping. People have been doing it for years, and it works. It takes a lot of time, and it can be exhausting, but people won’t know about you if you don’t go find them.

I started a book blog spontaneously without any preparation or anything. I’d been reading books for a while and I’d just gotten to know GoodReads, and I saw book blogs and thought, hey why not? I definitely don’t regret starting one, but maybe I should have been a bit more prepared 🙂

My inspiration comes from other bloggers. When I see something I like written by another blogger, I’m inspired to try it for myself, or to find a way to make it unique so that I’m not being a copy-cat. Bloggers were the ones who inspired me to start my blog, and they still inspire what I write about.

I don’t know about my favorite post of all time lol. I like a lot of posts, and don’t really have a specific YES I LOVE THIS ONE THE MOST post. Lol

I think that to get people to comment, you need to be interactive with the questions that you ask in a post. I try to leave a question or discussion open so that the reader can form their own opinion and share, or when I write a discussion post, I try to pick a topic that has many opinions so that others would want to share their thoughts on what I said.

I hope I helped answer some of your questions!! And thank you so much for taking part again, Kelly 💖
