It is Tuesday! Let’s do the Top 5 Tuesday dance! *boogies* Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm. Each week, she gives a topic and participants get to answer. This week’s topic is Top 5 Covers of 2019.
When I first started reading No Good Men by Thea McAlistair, the cover hadn’t been released yet. I was delighted when I went back to GoodReads and saw this. It just so beautifully portrays the era and feel of the book. It’s lovely.
Another beautiful cover of a recent read, Stepsister by Jennifer Donnelly has a beautiful cover that is evocative of what’s inside. The glass slipper, the blood, the glass shards… it all works for me.
There’s a slight chance I think the cover of With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo is beautiful because I’ve got a little crush on the girl, but she’s gorgeous and so is the cover.
I may have found We Rule the Night by Claire Eliza Bartlett depressing and uncomfortable, but that cover is amazing. Every time I see it, it makes me want to pick the book up and read it.
What can I saw? I’ve got a thing for beautifully dressed women holding deadly objects. Capturing the Devil and all the books by Kerri Maniscalco have visually stunning covers. I can’t wait to get my hands on this one.
That was a lot of fun! I mean, I try not to judge a book by it’s cover, but I can’t say I succeed. The prettier the cover, the more I want to give it a try.
