My favorite season and why I like it:
My favorite season is summer. I’m a teacher, and I love having the summer off. I love the warm weather and sunshine. Where I live, it generally doesn’t get too warm (in fact, sometimes, it’s too cloudy for me). I love going to the beach and reading for hours, or walking by the shore listening to books. It’s just an amazing season, and I wish it lasted longer.
A book you couldn’t stop reading
The first time I read The Magpie Lord by K.J. Charles, I couldn’t put it down. I loved both the main characters so much, and the chemistry between them just scorched the page (or screen, since I read it on my Kindle). I was intrigued by the plot and hung on every word until the end.
You’re a cheetah.
A book you read in just one day.
So, I had a totally rocking New Year’s Eve this… last year. Not only did I read This Side of Murder by Anna Lee Huber in one day, I read it in a few hours. I looked at it, thought, “I wonder if I can read that before midnight,” and then I did. Totally rocking.
Couldn’t let go
A book you reread straight away
Something Upstairs by Avi is the only book I can remember ever opening up and rereading right after I finished reading it. It was creepy and spooky, and it scared the heck out of me, but I loved it.
Calm it down!
A book that got your heart racing
Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff had my heart pounding and me sitting on the edge of my seat. It also made me cry really hard. It’s just a roller coaster of a ride.
A sequel you read faster than the first
It took me a few days to read Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare, but it only took me one to get through Clockwork Prince.
Books on fire!
A series you read straight through
I read all six published books in the the Lady Darby series by Anna Lee Huber in just a few weeks. I think I only had to wait for them to be delivered from ThriftBooks, but I tore through that series. It’s just so good.
A book that kept you up late
I didn’t want to put A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer down. It kept me up well into the night. I cannot wait for the sequel.
And that’s the Summer Sweatalong tag. If you’re reading this and feel so inclined, consider yourself tagged. Have fun!
