WWW Wednesday | April 10

It’s Wednesday! I’ve got three more days until spring break! And, boy, do I need a break.

Thanks, as always, to Sam and Taking on a World of Words for hosting this weekly meme.

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading Milady by Laura L. Sullivan. I got this ARC from NetGalley and, after a rough start, I’m beginning to enjoy it. It’s about Milady from The Three Musketeers. I never really was very interested in her, but I loved Three Musketeers in high school and I do like books exploring the histories of side characters in different novels. I didn’t like the prologue very much because it just seemed a little much, but now it’s exploring her teenage years and training to take her place in court. I’m finding that very interesting.

I’m also listening to Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. I’ve read it a few times before, but this is the first time I’ve listened it it. I don’t know, maybe I’m being influenced by the miniseries casting, but the narrator, Martin Jarvis, sounds so much like David Tennat when reading Crowely. Anyway, I’m really enjoying listening to it and glad I checked it out.

What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco. My full review is up on Friday, but my general impression is I liked it, but didn’t love it. I love the characters, but the plot didn’t hold me very much. And I found the ending a bit out there… which I guess is standard for the Audrey Rose books.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Next, I’m either going to read The Princess and the Fangirl or Geekerella by Ashley Poston. I’ve already read (well, listened) to Geekerella once, but I kind of want to reread it just for fun. Unfortunately, Barnes and Noble didn’t have it when I went to get Princess and the Fangirl, so I had to order it (and that was kind of an ordeal). So, if it gets here before I finish Milady, it’ll be Geekerella. Otherwise, The Princess and the Fangirl. After that, I’ll probably read Sherwood by Megan Spooner, which I also bought.

That’s my Wednesday. How is your shaping up? Drop me a comment below and let me know what you’re reading!
