Book Review: Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

Audrey Rose is interested in a very macabre subject: human dissection. Under the direction of her uncle, Audrey Rose is learning how to dissect the human body and perform autopsies. When Jack the Ripper begins his killing spree, Audrey Rose becomes interested in the investigation, especially when the clues start pointing to the people she loves. With the help of the annoying and devastatingly handsome Thomas Cresswell, Audrey Rose uses her fledgling investigation skills to find and stop Jack the Ripper before he can kill again.

I quite liked this book. Most of that was because I really enjoyed Audrey Rose. I found her interest in autopsies interesting, and while there was a touch of “not like other girls” to her narrative, it never became overbearing. I liked her relationship with her uncle and I especially liked the flirtation between her and Thomas. The mystery was pretty easy to solve, although I did second guess my initial prediction and let myself be led astray. Overall, it was a satisfying read.

Four out of five stars
