Beauty and the Beast tag

This is an older tag that was created by Du Livre in 2017 to celebrate the release of Disney’s live action Beauty and the Beast. Although it’s an old tag, I love Beauty and the Beast with all my heart and really wanted to do it.

A villain you can’t help but love

I am totally and completely in love with AIDAN from The Illuminae Files by Amie Kauffman and Jay Kristoff. It’s an AI, and it’s totally amoral and has no problem with killing thousands of people on a whim in the name of keeping others safe or to protect those it’s obsessed with. But I love AIDAN. It’s just such a wonderful character and whenever it’s point of view came up in the book, I got so excited. I love that murderous AI.

Your OTP

My OTP is Lady Kiera Darby and Sebastian Gage from the Lady Darby mysteries by Anna Lee Hubard. They are such a wonderful couple. She’s loving and kind and he’s supportive and encouraging. Whether Gage is encouraging her to follow her artistic passion or investigate the latest mystery that’s been brought to her attention, he is 100% there for her and supportive of her endeavors. From the moment Kiera first called him a rake to the moment they first kissed, I was totally rooting for these two.

A character destined for greater things.

Cinder from the book Cinder by Marissa Meyer is definitely a character destined for greater things. Raised in obscurity by a cruel adoptive mother, Cinder is a cyborg with few rights. She is a greatly talented mechanic and fiercely independent. She had no idea how powerful and important she really was.

A book that makes you hungry

Although it’s been many years since I’ve read it, for this question I’m choosing the book Sunshine by Robin McKinley. The main character, Rae, works in a bakery and the book is full of rich and tantalizing descriptions of the baked goods. Whenever I read this book, I make sure I have easy access to cinnamon rolls, even though I know they aren’t nearly as good as the ones in the book.

Opposites attract

For this one, the first couple that came to mind was Silas Mason and Dominic Frey from A Seditious Affair by KJ Charles. Silas is a radical, an idealist, a bookseller, and the writer of seditious pamphlets. Dominic is a gentleman who works for the Home Office seeking to stamp out sedition. But, every week, they meet and fall just a little bit more in love with one another. It’s not a neat affair or a particularly nice one, but it was one of my favorites in the Society of Gentlemen series.

So, that is the Beauty and the Beast tag. I hope you enjoyed reading it. If you did, consider yourself tagged and leave a comment below so I can read yours!
